Jacksonville Man Facing Attempted Murder Charge

A Jacksonville man is facing an Attempted Murder charge in connection with a shooting incident occurring last Saturday (March 29th).

23 year old Tyler O’Neil King was arrested Monday and charged with Attempted Murder and 1st Degree Burglary – both felony offenses.

According to the Anniston Star the shooting reportedly took place just after 9:15pm at a home on Rabbittown Road near Piedmont; Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson said the home belongs to the victim’s girlfriend – who is an ex-girlfriend of the shooter.

King allegedly broke down the front door, and then pointed a gun at the victim – shooting him in the shoulder; after throwing several punches, King left on foot.

The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in Jacksonville for treatment and he was released the following day.

King remains in the Calhoun County Detention Center with bond having been set at $125,000.

He has a court date of April 17th in that case.
