The chat show personality and Tony Award-winning stage star will take to the stage as the host of the event, which will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, 8 p.m. Eastern.

“Thanks to ‘Carpool Karaoke,’ we’ve all been on some incredible rides with James, and The Recording Academy couldn’t be more excited to welcome his passion and enthusiasm for music, both as an entertainer and a fan, to the Grammy stage,” said Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow in a statement.

“He’s got big shoes to fill after the magnificent run we had with LL Cool J, but James is a commanding, dynamic showman who is perfect to host.”

In the same statement, Corden said, he’s “truly honored” to topline “…the biggest, most prestigious award show in music.”

He added, “I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an incredible night.”

Corden hosted the Tony Awards earlier this year, and was given high marks for gracefully guiding the telecast through a difficult evening, coming as it did so soon after the Orlando nightclub shootings.
