Leesburg Business Owner Arrested on Drug Charges; Others Arrested on Separate Drug Charges and Theft of Property Charges

Leesburg Police Officers Joe Johnson and Hennae Mcginnis had a eventful shift last Friday (September 25th). According to Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum, the two arrested the owner “Tim’s Walk Hard BBQ”, Timothy O’Neal Fife of Centre – charging him with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

BUST 1000Later that same evening they arrested Brion Leigh Watkins, and charged him with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both subjects are awaiting a bond hearing.

Saturday (September 26th) Officer Joe Johnson arrested Leesburg resident Ryan Robertson and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Also, with the assistance of Centre Police Officer Daniel Wooten, the officers recovered a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck that had been stolen from Etowah County last Thursday (September 24th).

BUST 1001In a subsequent search of the residence officers discovered a 1984 Honda 3 wheeler stolen last Friday in Cherokee County. As a result Mitchell Blake Slayton of Leesburg was found to be in possession of the stolen truck and ATV.

Slayton was charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree for the truck, and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree for the ATV; he also faces numerous outstanding warrants.  27 year old Donald Eugene Barnes has also been arrested in connection with that case, and was charged with Receiving Stolen Property 3rd Degree.

Both investigations are ongoing and other arrests are expected in these cases.
