A Leesburg woman was air-lifted to an area trauma center over the weekend, after she had apparently stabbed herself multiple times during a domestic incident.
Just after 8:30pm Saturday, Leesburg Police and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Pine Cone Street in Leesburg – where they immediately secured the scene; Leesburg Police saw that a woman was bleeding heavily and that’s when paramedics with Cherokee EMS quickly moved in and stabilized the victim – before taking her to a landing zone at the FEMA building, where a waiting LifeSaver Helicopter then took her to a trauma center.
The investigation into the matter is on-going.
