Cherokee County voters have voted to continue the One Cent Sales Tax for Education – a total of 1,582 citizens voted in favor of the tax while 1,244 voted No.
The issue has been a source of often heated debate over the past several months especially. Superintendent Mitchell Guice had proposed that the tax be instituted in perpetuity however the renewal will be for a period of two years.
Following the Election Results Superintendent Guice had these comments –
In the race for Place #5 on the Cherokee County Board Of Education it was Brian Jennings winning the runoff by a margin of 1,252 voted to Rhett Walkers 1,040 votes.

Who in there right mind would vote to pay an extra penny for sales tax??? Only in Cherokee County. People are crazy!!!
If you are registered to vote and did not take the time to vote, you have no complaints. It is your right to vote.
