Local Business Owner Dies in Thursday Auto Accident

A well known Cherokee County business owner was the victim of a fatal accident, Thursday night on County Road 22.

53 year old Robert Wayne “Scooter” Tarver, owner of “Scooter’s Store” – was fatally injured in the single-vehicle rollover.

According to Cherokee County Coroner Jeremy Deaton, Tarver was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle left the roadway and caught fire.

Tarver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was found by a Good Samaritan – that happened to be a registered nurse. She administered CPR until first responders could arrive on the scene, however Tarver died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Members of the Spring Creek and McCord’s Fire Departments, Cherokee EMS, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, various law enforcement officials and Deputy Coroner Jeff Walsh – all responded to the scene.
