A routine traffic stop resulted in a Section man being arrested on several charges.
30 year old Brian LaTrent Heard had been pulled over by Officer Rafael Cruz, Jr., and during the stop, was charged with an open container violation.
While Officer Cruz was in the process of writing out the ticket, another car pulled up along-side and stated that Heard had stolen money from them through a cell phone transaction.
A search of Heard’s vehicle – conducted by Ft Payne Police Detectives David Davis and Lee Traylor – turned up several stolen items; at that point Heard was additionally charged with Unlawful Breaking & Entering, with three counts of Theft of Property 1st Degree and three counts of Theft of Property 3rd Degree.
