Man Hospitalized; Dog Killed by “Hit and Run” Driver / UPDATED

Gadsden Police continue their search, for the driver of a truck that hit a man crossing Broad Street Wednesday night.

The impact sent 60 year old Alonza Scott to a Birmingham hospital for treatment, and killed his dog, who was walking with him in the 700 block around 8:20pm.

The man and his dog were struck by a truck, possibly a silver Ford F-150 that was traveling eastbound; according to reports the truck may have a gray or black tailgate and may also be a 4-Wheel Drive model.  Police say there is probably damage to the front end of the vehicle.

Scott reportedly suffered severe injuries.
