A Floyd County, Georgia man was stabbed in the chest late Saturday night trying to prevent a fight between two women.

According to Rome City Police reports, 29-year-old Eunice Louise Saylors of Silver Creek, stormed unto the porch of a home on Lombardy Way around 9pm, accusing one of the female residents of stealing her money.

To keep the two women from hurting one another, 34-year-old Wayne Ira Reynolds Jr., who also lives at the home, stepped between the pair.

But, as the woman tried to avoid Saylor’s attacks, Reynolds was stabbed in the chest.

Witnesses say Saylors said she did not mean to stab the man before fleeing the property.

They also claim she was under the influence of Methamphetamine at the time of the incident.

Saylors was picked up by city police on Holley St. and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Reynolds was taken by EMS to Floyd Medical Center, and was in good enough condition to provide police with a written statement.
