Man Involved in Highway 48 Accident Charged with DUI

Information has now been released regarding a two-vehicle accident that resulted in three people being hurt last Saturday in Chattooga County, Georgia.

According to the Georgia State Patrol accident report the wreck occurred at 3:40pm when a 2011 Chevy Malibu traveling east on Highway 48 crossed the centerline and collided with a 2007 Honda Pilot traveling in the opposite direction.

Following the impact, the Malibu came to rest on top of the guardrail.

The driver of the Malibu, identified as 56 year old, James H. Williams, from Trion, was taken to Floyd Medical Center for treatment.

Meanwhile the driver of the Pilot, 34 year old Menlo resident Amanda S. Larkins and her 12 year old passenger were transported to Redmond Regional Medical Center for treatment.

According to that report Williams was charged with DUI as well as the unlawful possession of marijuana – less than one ounce, and with failure to maintain lane.
