Gadsden Police now say 64 year old J.L. Shadwrick of Attalla was murdered.
Fishermen discovered Shadwrick’s body in Big Wills Creek at about 6:30 Monday morning – with authorities pulling the body from the water around 9:00am.
Detectives say they’re not releasing any information regarding the manner in which he was killed, or any possible motive; they did state however, they believe he was killed in the area where he was found.
Law enforcement officials are currently conducting interviews and processing evidence.
