Man Says He Visited A “Bootleggers House,” Gets Arrested

A Summerville man was recently charged with being a pedestrian under the influence and told a Chattooga County Deputy that he had been at a “bootlegger’s house.”

53-year old Mark London of Summerville was charged after flagging down a deputy and confessing that he had been drinking beer and liquor.

The incident happened on Highway 114 (The Lyerly Highway) near the intersection of Bellah Avenue.

While London admitted to drinking liquor, it isn’t clear from the confession if the liquor he confessed to drinking was legal or not.
