Man Travels More Than 3,000 Miles Cross-Country to Rescue Dog

ABC News(SEATTLE) — A Washington man traveled across the country for four days to adopt Bella, a 3-year-old pit bull, from Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control in Florida.

Travis Littleton, 29, first saw Bella on Instagram and his heart melted immediately. He said Bella reminded him of his dog, who he recently had to put down, and called it, “love at first sight.”

So Littleton drove all the way from his home right outside Seattle, Washington. more than 3,200 miles to West Palm Beach, Florida.

After more than 48 hours behind the wheel, Littleton and Bella had their joyful union, which made the long trek well worth it for both the dog and owner.

“Pit bulls get a bad wrap…they look rough, so she’s kind of like me,” he said. “I look rough but I’m just a softie. And so is she. I couldn’t be happier.”
