Mary Ruth Norton, age 81 of Centre, passed away Friday August 30th at her residence.

Funeral services will be 11:AM Sunday, September 1st at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, Melvyn Salter officiating; Burial will follow in Calcedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:PM Saturday.

Pallbearers include John Sparks, Dewey Ray Sparks, Danny Ray Tucker, Floyd Wells, John Coggin, Jimmy Williams.

Survivors include daughter, Phyllis (Wayne) Loyd of Centre, Wanda (Carl) McDaniel of Centre; brothers, John Norton of Centre, Jack Norton of Centre, Truman Norton of Centre, Harvey (Dora) Norton of Centre; sister, Margaret (Roland) Ryan of MS; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jean Norton; brothers, Herbert Norton and Charles Norton; nephew, Harold Bettis and a great grandson, Carson Deric Guice.

Mrs. Norton was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Ira Hank and Bessie Mae Trotter Norton and was of the Baptist faith.

Memorials may be made to the Calcedinia Cemetery Fund or the family will accept flowers.
