One of north Alabama’s largest community gatherings honoring veterans and the military was held in the McCord’s Crossroads community on Saturday as the community presented an annual day-long event filled with family fun and something for everyone
The parade kicked off the annual event from at the McCord’s Fire Hall #2 on County Road 157, with the official opening ceremonies following.
Friday morning, WEIS Radio played host to some of those involved in that event, including event organizers Judy Hopper and Edna Jennings of the McCord’s Crossroads Homemakers Club, American Legion Vice-Commander & author David Hartline along with Keith Baldwin of American Auctioneers.
Local veterans Doyle and Lloyd Kerr served as the Grand Marshalls for the parade.
Proceeds from Saturday’s event will go to benefit the McCord’s Crossroads community.
