Miles Teller defiant after booze-related arrest: “I blame Shore Club”

Miles Teller in “Bleed This” – Open Road Films/Seacia Pavao(SAN DIEGO) — Miles Teller, the actor best known as the troubled drummer in the Oscar-winning movie Whiplash, had his own real-life troubles over the weekend, with an alcohol-related arrest in San Diego.

But while many actors might turn to social media for a mea culpa, Teller took aim at the venue, tweeting, “I blame Shore Club.”

Officers say Bleed This star Teller, 30, was partying with friends at bars in the Pacific Beach area, and when they stopped him, they say his eyes were red, he was slurring and at one point almost fell into the street. Teller was given the chance to sleep it off at a detox facility, but he was reportedly uncooperative, so the staff kicked him out.

That’s when police took Teller to jail, where he was booked on a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

That’s not exactly how Teller remembers it, however. The actor later tweeted, “Went down to SD to see my buddy before he deployed. I wasn’t arrested I was detained bc there was no evidence to charge me with a crime.”

Despite Teller’s denial, ABC News has confirmed with the San Diego Police Department that Teller was, indeed, arrested and booked.
