More information has now come forth regarding a Ft Payne woman who – while serving as a teacher and coach at Scottsboro High School, allegedly engaged in sexual relations with a female student.

According to WAFF TV48 – the relationship between that student and 26 year old Kandace Christopher lasted approximately three months – began last November and became more sexual over time.

Investigators say the parents of the student discovered evidence of the relationship on her phone; Scottsboro school officials have confirmed that Christopher was a history teacher at the school and also served as an assistant varsity girls’ softball coach and a head basketball coach of the girls’ junior high squad.

She began employment at the school last July and completed only one full semester prior to her arrest and subsequent resignation.

Christopher was booked into the Jackson County Jail and later released on $16,000 bond.
