Motion For Reconsideration of Appeal Filed by Former Rome Businessman – Denied

Walker in RomeA motion for reconsideration of an appeal filed by former Rome businessman Lance Walker – was denied Wednesday by the Georgia Court of Appeals.

The appeals court denied his appeal for a new trial back on October 15th – saying the court was correct in sentencing him to a prison term of 25 years.

Walker had been convicted on child molestation and sodomy charges in August, 2013.

His attorney filed an appeal stating that the two charges should have been merged into one – since those charges were related to the same act – which would have resulted in a lesser sentence.

The court denied his request, saying multiple charges can be filed for the same act.
