Mr. Bertice Edwin “Bert” Latham

Mr. Bertice Edwin “Bert” Latham, age 72 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, November 19th at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Friday at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Mullaney, Dr. George Cobb, and Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:30PM Friday.

Pallbearers include Danny Smith, Adrian Bouchillon, Brian Bouchillon, Jerry Latham, Mike Burns and John Marlowe.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Cherokee & DeKalb Bar Assocation, A. Richard Igou, District Attorney and staff, 9th Judicial Circuit, Dekalb and Cherokee Counties, Phil Powell, Jim Bouchillon, Joe Hays, Warren Dotson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Gaskin Latham; son, Hughbert Edwin (Carolyn) Latham of Vestavia Hills; daughter, Selena Latham (Chris) Conley of Menlo, GA; sisters, Nellie Burns of Tarrent City, Judy (Homer) Marlowe of Locust Fork; grandchildren, Carter and Cora Conley, Ellie and Grayton Latham; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Self, Faye Taylor; Brothers, Alfred and Gerald Latham.

Mr. Latham was a native of Cullman, the son of the late Odis Lee and Alma Ruth Tillman Latham, was a retired Deputy District Attorney and Municipal Judge and was a member of Centre First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centre First United Methodist Church.
