Mr. Earnest Willard Ray, age 82, of Centre, passed away Wednesday, September 25th at Cherokee Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11:AM Saturday, September 28th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Glen Studdard and Rev. James Rainey officiating; burial will follow at 3:PM at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, AL. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:AM Saturday.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Willerson Ray; son, Mike (Debbie) Ray of Prattville, Jeff (Jane) Ray of Montgomery and Ken (Marta) Ray of Crestview, FL; daughter, Linda Ray of Prattville; sisters, Louise Redding of Gadsden, Juanita Wyatt of Clanton and Glenda Johnson of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Savannah Bobo, Jasmine Hamilton, Brandon Ray, Christopher Ray, Corey Ray, Casey Ray, Austin Ray and Marysia Ray; great grandchildren, Emma Ray, Jack Ray, Shianne Hamilton, Braxton Hamilton and Zachary Hamilton; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ray.
Mr. Ray was a native of Tuscaloosa, the son of the late, Gladden Edward and Arsula Burnett Ray. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served 20 years in the Air Force. After retirement from the Air Force, he served 15 years in civil service and was a member of the Centre Congregational Holiness Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centre Congregational Holiness Church.
