Mr. George Alvin Burkhalter, age 88, of Leeds, passed away Thursday July 20th at his residence.

Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Saturday July 22nd at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. R.G Lyons officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12 P.M. until 2 P.M. Saturday.
Pallbearers include Walter Duke, David Johnson, Dean Buttram, Adrian Bouchillon, Brian Bouchillon, Johnny Martin, Wallace Lyons, Jody Baker, Jeff Burkhalter, Steve Baker.

Survivors include his wife Martha Campbell Burkhalter, son Michael (Carmen) Burkhalter of Florence, AL; daughter Robin (Larry)Pate of Vestavia Hills, AL.; grandson Christian Michael Burkhalter.

Mr. Burkhalter was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Charles and Mildred Baker Burkhalter; brother of the late Charles Burkhalter Jr. He was a member of Leeds First United Methodist Church. Mr. Burkhalter served in the Korean War, and retired from the Alabama Beverage Control Board.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leeds First United Methodist Church or Centre First United Methodist Church.
