Mr. Hobert Cecil Reed traded time for eternity on May 24, 2015, at the age of 91.He was a dedicated father and friend to many and he loved to be of service to others.

Services will be at Perry Funeral Home on Wednesday May 27; with visitation 4-7 PM and funeral at 7PM. Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Cherokee Memory Garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 64 years, Ivlyn Conaway Reed. He is survived by a brother, Garvis Reed, of Rome, GA. He is also survived by sons, Gary (Luan) Reed, Conrad (Ruth) Reed, a daughter, Lynn (Bobby) Doeg, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great – grandchildren.

Hobert was one of the first members of East Centre Baptist Church where he had served as song leader and deacon.

Mr. Reed was a WW II veteran and a member of Centre Fire Department for 68 years, with
20 years service as Fire Chief.

In lieu of flowers and food, his wish was for memorials to be made to the Cherokee Humane Society as he had a sincere love for all animals.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, great- grandson, nephew, and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Centre Fire Department, past and present.
