Mr. Hugh George Washington, age 85, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Sunday March 12th at his residence.
Memorial service will be 1 P.M. Wednesday March 15th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Lipscomb officiating. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cedar Bluff Civitan Club, or to your favorite charity.
Survivors include wife Betty Ruth Taylor Washington; son Gary Washington of Douglasville, GA.; daughter Sandra Washington of Douglasville, GA.; son Michael W. (Teresa) Lipscomb of Greer, SC.; daughter Angela K. (Charles) Shaw of Cartersville, GA.; daughter Myra A. (Brad) Cline of Cartersville, GA.; son Kenny (Tammy) Lipscomb of Cartersville, GA.; sister-in-law Brenda Smith; 7 grandchildren; great-grandchildren 8 and a half; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother Howard Washington.
Mr. Washington was a native of Polk County Georgia, the son of the late George and Dovie Blaylock Washington, and he was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the U.S Army during the Korean War and worked in the Department of Transportation for the state of Georgia.
