Mr. James “Jim” LeRoy Crowe

Mr. James “Jim” LeRoy Crowe, age 92, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Crowe was born November 4, 1921, in Ft. Payne, AL, the son of the late Rev. Franklin Eaton and Virgie Reece Crowe. Mr. Crowe was a mechanic, farmer, and a member of the New Hope Independent Church. Jamestown, AL, and was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Dempsey Crowe, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Odell Hammett, grandchildren, Dale (Vicki) Hammett, Jeff Hammett, Cindy (Billy Don) DeBerry, great-grandchildren, Meagan RuBright, Josh Hammett, Jon Hammett, Katlin Lindsey, Sidney Hammett, Lauren Hammett, Trey DeBerry, Emily DeBerry, great-great-grandchildren, Ivy RuBright, Eva Cannon, Easton Johnson, and sister-in-law, Jeneal Wilson.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, September 30, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hammett officiating with interment in the Alpine Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ralph Sentell, Donald Sentell, Richard Sentell, and Marty Crowe.

Mr. Crowe will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, September 29, 2014. The family requests no food, and in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Alpine Cemetery Fund.
