Mr. James T. Winkles, age 89 of Piedmont, formerly of Centre passed away Monday September 8th at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 7: PM Wednesday September 10th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Burgess officiating; burial will be 10: AM Thursday at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 Wednesday.

Pallbearers include Chad, Tony, Phillip, Michael, Dalton and J. Winkles, Matthew McGee, Chase Bobbitt.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth (Judy) Winkles of Piedmont, Jimmy (Linda) Winkles of Centre, Jeff (Tasha Holbrook) Winkles of Piedmont; daughter, Linda (Steve) Hammonds of Rome, GA; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Frost Winkles and son, Donnie Winkles.

Mr. Winkles was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late Lee and Myrtle Richardson Winkles, was a self employed mechanic and was of the Protestant faith.

Memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Piedmont Rescue squad or the family will accept flowers.
