Mr. Joshua Jimmy Slayton

Mr. Joshua Jimmy Slayton age 24 of Gaylesville passed away Sunday December 4 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Justin Ward, Scott Hobbs and Jonathan Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Faith Cemetery. Members of the Centre Police Department , members of the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and members of the Gaylesville Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Rescue Squad , Centre Police Department, Gaylesville Fire Department or to the family.

Mr. Slayton was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, member of the Centre Police Department and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad. He was a former member of the Gaylesville Fire Departmant.

He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Valerie Grace Slayton, Sister, Kim (Johathan) Kendrick of Cedar Bluff, Brother, Joseph Slayton of Gaylesville, nephew, Rylan Kendrick, his Girlfriend, Haley Hays, grandmother, Lena Grace, Uncles, Jeff (Vickie) Grace, Lewis (Amanda) Grace, Jr., Johnny (Carol) Slayton, Aunt, Martha (Randall) Stancil. Cousin Dustin Grace and his daughter Kindal.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis Grace, W.J. and Ruth Slayton. Great-grandmother, Arlene Ashworth of Cedar Bluff, Lewis Grace, Sr. and Jean Grace of Parson, TN and Lula Robertson of Centre.
