Mr. Ollen James Pierce, age 82 of Centre, passed away Sunday, June 30th at Kindred Hospital in Rome, GA.

Funeral services will be at 7:00pm today (Monday, July 1st) at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Greg Locklear officiating; the family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Cherokee Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers include Billy Ray Pierce, Caldwell Hopper, Gene Agan, Jimmy Graham, Terry Snead and Danny Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Bearden, Mike Hayes, Basil Bolton, Fred Mackey, Sammy Hester and Tim Brittain.

Survivors include wife, Evelyn Graham Pierce; son, George Thomas (Charlia) Pierce of Centre; a sister, Maude Whorton of Anniston; two grandchildren, Lauren Pierce (Nathan) Wehunt and Colton Graham Pierce; and several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Pierce was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late George and Clara Maybelle Garrett Pierce, was a mason, a member of New Prospect Baptist Church #2, and served with the Carpenters for Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church #2.
