Mr. Ted Chesnut

Mr. Ted Chesnut, 84, of Sand Rock, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday, March 3rd at Perry Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday from 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home. 

Mr. Chesnut proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was a partner and later sole owner of Hancock & Chesnut Well Drillers.  He was an avid gardener and cattleman throughout his life. 

He is survived by his children; son,  Michael (Julia) Chesnut;  daughters: Gloria (Donnie) Inman and Cheryl (Steve) Tucker;  grandchildren, Heath Chesnut, Lora (Brett) Causey, Dustin (Felicia) Inman, Scottie (Taqwa) Tucker,  Carey (Kim) Tucker, Suzanne (Daniel) Paris; great-grandchildren, Kynleigh, Carson, and Raegan Chesnut; Parker, Hudson and Hadley Causey; Dexter Inman; and Morgan and Cooper Tucker; Aniston and Braiden Paris; brother, Troy (Jean) Chesnut; sister, Nellie Mitchell, sisters-in-law, Louise Chesnut; Melba Chesnut; brother-in-law, E.H. Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Joe and Brenda Pace, Bonnie Smith, and Don Dowdy.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Chesnut; his parents, L.C. and Lena Chesnut; brothers, Glen, Frank, and Clarence Chesnut; sisters, Ada Brown, Mary Stallings, and Hazel Johnson; brothers-in-law, Clarence Brown, Joseph Stallings, and Erskine Mitchell; sister-in-law, Esther Chesnut. 

Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews, and friends.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Hopewell Advent Christian Church Cemetery Fund.

Heartfelt thanks to all that have extended to Ted and his family compassion, kindness, and comfort through your words and actions during this time.
