Mrs. Edna Gertia Rhinehart Tierce

Mrs. Edna Gertia Rhinehart Tierce, age 84, passed away on January 7, 2014 after an extended illness. She was born on February 2, 1929 in Calhoun County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Luther Don and Mrs. Nancy McFall Rhinehart Tierce.

She was married to the late Marshall Lee Tierce on December 15,1948.

Mrs. Tierce is preceded in death by her parents; Mr. Luther Don and Mrs. Nancy McFall Rhinehart ; Her Loving Husband Marshall Tierce, Foster Child, Phil Tierce; Sisters, Estelle Hinton and Mattie Bell Williams; Brothers, Albert Rhinehart, Winfred Rhinehart, G.W. Rhinehart, Reese Rhinehart, and John Rhinehart.

Mrs. Tierce is survived her daughters and son-in-laws; Synetta (Tony) Bowling, Ava (Rickey) Rainey, and Pat (Tony) Davis of Cedartown; Sisters, Ruth Rutherford, and Juanita Wallace of Anniston and Oxford Alabama; Brothers, Clyde Rhinehart and Fred Rhinehart of Rock Run Alabama and Sam Rhinehart of Cedartown; four grandchildren, Blake (Kendra) Rainey of Atlanta Georgia, Nicholas (Lorrie) Rainey of Cedartown Georgia, Brittney (Jimmy) Higginbotham of McDonough Georgia, and Madison Davis of Cedartown; five great grandchildren, Griffin Higginbotham, Tatum Higginbotham, Bryson Neace, Macall Higginbotham, and Ellis Rainey; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Tierce will be conducted on Friday January 10, 2014 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Second Baptist Church of Cedartown with Rev. Patrick Latham officiating. Mrs. Tierce will lie in state for one hour prior to the funeral hour. Interment will follow to Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Larry Conner officiating.

The family will be receiving friends and family on Thursday January 9, 2014 from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the evening at Gammage Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted as well as donations can be made to Second Baptist Church of Cedartown’s Building Fund.
