Mrs. Katie Mae Ledbetter, age 87, of Gaylesville, AL, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Ledbetter was born April 3, 1927, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late Archie Henry Thomas and Maggie Mae Grimes Thomas. She was a housewife and was a member of the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church, the 20th Century Club, the T.E.L. Sunday School Class, W.M.U., and also served as Church Librarian. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ledbetter was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ledbetter; a sister, Nell Searels Williams; brothers, Glen Thomas and Herman Thomas.
Mrs. Ledbetter is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Terry Lawson, Cindy and Herb Skelton; brothers, James Thomas and Ralph Thomas; sister, Bonnie Fleming; grandchildren, Tera and Kevin Walker, Trey and Ashleigh Skelton, Tyler and Kathryn Lawson; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ledbetter will be held at 7:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Cosby officiating. Burial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (E.S.T.) on Wednesday in the Weiss Lake Memorial Garden. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Walker, Trey Skelton, Mark Searels, Tyler Lawson, Brent Fleming, and Todd Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be the T.E.L. Sunday School Class of the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ledbetter will be in state at the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church and the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) until the service hour on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church Building Fund.
