Mrs. Novella Broom age 95 of Centre passed away Friday August 11th at her residence.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday August 13th at Centre First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM Sunday at the church.
Pallbearers include Wallace Lyons, Dean Buttram, Mark Baker, Charles ( Chum) Baker, Robert ( Reb) Baker and Alex Works. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Mack Garrett, David James, Bill Scroggin, B.T. Law, Bobby Russell and Jerry Parker.
Mrs. Broom was an active member of Centre First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Broom was a registered nurse having been employed by several hospitals during her nursing career and retired from the Cherokee County Health Department.
Mrs. Broom was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Broom; sons, Patrick and Michael Broom; granddaughters, Allison and Tracey Broom.
Survivors include sisters, Christine Meers of Hokes Bluff and Frances Abel of Gadsden; nieces, Pat (Charley) Baker of Birmingham, Anne Coker of Gadsden, Rebecca (David) Franklin of Wilsonville; special niece, Jennifer Henslee of Gadsden; special friend, Mary Leigh Hill of Leesburg.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Centre First United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
