Patricia Kay Pearson, 80 of Centre, passed away Friday, October 17th at her residence.
Funeral services will be 1: PM Wednesday, October 22nd at Centre First Baptist Church, with Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating; burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11: AM at the funeral home, then the body will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 1.
Survivors include her sons, Allan (Monica) Morton of Springville, Bryan (Liz) Morton of Stuart, FL, as well as her step-children, Tim Pearson of Valley Lee, MD and Jamie (Jeff) McLane of California, MD; brothers, Douglas Newman, James Newman, Clinton Newman; sisters, Marylin Mabee, Linda Lennon; grandchildren, Jared (Natalie)Morton, Jennifer (Joey)Bischoff, Sam Morton, Fletcher Morton, Jenifer (Shawn) Downs & Jesica McLane, Nicole Hodges; great grandchildren, Dallas Downs, Mykah Hodges, Jackson Downs, Savannah Bischoff, Cole Downs, Gavin Liston and Carter Morton; several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Pearson.
Pallbearers include: Joey Bischoff, Jeff McLane, Jared Morton, Sam Morton, Steve Newman and Mike Mabee
Mrs. Pearson was a native of Birmingham, the daughter of the late Lionel Earl and Irene Cockrell Newman. She was a 1955graduate of Woodlawn High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was a longtime member of Crestwood Christian Church but most recently a member of Centre First Baptist Church. Her love of people in general led her to the ministry of the B-Team Angels in which she was dedicated to for many years.
