Mrs. Sybil Delaine Taff Dean

Mrs. Sybil Delaine Taff Dean, 82, of Rainbow City, Ala., passed away Sunday evening, May 12, following an extended illness. She was a native of Cherokee County, a housewife and a member of Southside Methodist Church.

Services will be Wednesday, May 15, at 1 p.m., in the Williams Southside Funeral Chapel with Joseph Langford officiating and Williams Southside Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation is Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mrs. Dean is survived by her husband, Earl W. Dean of Rainbow City; a daughter, Amy Powell of Jacksonville, Ala.; three sons, David Dean (Jane)  of Tuscaloosa, Terry Dean of Centre, Ala. and Bill Dean (Sandy) of Trussville, Ala.; six grandchildren; Jennifer Langford (Joseph) of Tuscaloosa, Karan Nowakowski (Jake) of California, Kevin Gibson of Birmingham,  Lyndsey Dean of Auburn, Sarah Dean of Auburn and Austin Dean of Trussville and three great grandchildren, Caden Dean, Lilly Dean and Reagan Dean, all of Tuscaloosa.

She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruby Taff.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Etowah County Rescue Squad.

A special thanks is extended to the loving care provided by the staff of  Ladiga Manor Assisted Living Center and Jacksonville Regional Medical Center.
