Ms. Effie Louise Jetmore

Ms. Effie Louise Jetmore, 93 of Centre, AL, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jetmore will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Red River Baptist Church, Adams, TN, with Rev. Jeff Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4P.M. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home in Centre, AL. Visitation in Tennessee will be Wednesday, September 17 from 9:30 until 11 A.M. at the Red River Baptist Church, Adams, TN.

Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Brenda Armbrecht of Centre, AL, a son, Charles Jetmore of Carrollton, GA , one grandson, two granddaughters, three great-grandsons, two great- granddaughters, seven nephews, three nieces, and several great nieces and nephews.

Ms. Jetmore was born in Robertson County, TN, but lived in Nashville for many years before moving to Centre in 2007. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Rosa Rice Strange, and was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest, Chester and James R. Strange and sisters, Margaret Walker and Darlene Maxwell.

Ms. Jetmore was a clerk for a large grocery chain for 45 years. She was active in numerous community activities, including service on: the Board of Directors of the Council of Community Services, the United Way, Metro Beer Board, the Central Labor Council delegate, the Democratic Women’s Club, Kentucky Colonels. After retirement, Ms. Jetmore served as a lobbyist for AARP, traveled, and visited family and friends.

Ms. Jetmore was an outgoing person who enjoyed family, friends and the numerous activities in which she engaged. Those who knew her will long remember her sweet smile and her loving personality.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Centre First United Methodist Church.
