The National Weather Service Says Remnants of Harvey Will Impact North Alabama Today

The remnants of Harvey will approach Alabama today and is expected to bring a threat for brief tornadoes to the forecast area.

The threat could begin as early as 12:00 noon and continue until 10:00 PM. The best chance for brief tornadoes should generally be along and northwest of a line from Demopolis to Clanton to Wedowee, though a brief tornado cannot be ruled out farther south and east.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 69. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
