Netflix – 2016(NEW YORK) — The CEO of Netflix says the future of entertainment may be just like The Matrix: take a pill, and open up a whole new world.
Reed Hastings was speaking on the future of entertainment at a Wall Street Journal event when he said that, while streaming entertainment has changed the entertainment landscape, the next step could be popping a pill.
“In twenty or fifty years, taking a personalized blue pill [where] you just hallucinate in an entertaining way and then a white pill brings you back to normality is perfectly viable,” Mr. Hastings said. “And if the source of human entertainment in thirty or forty years is pharmacological, we’ll be in real trouble.”
