New Trailer for Old Wolverine: "Logan" First Look

Courtesy Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. (LOS ANGELES) —  20th Century Fox has revealed the trailer for Logan, Hugh Jackman’s last go-round as the titular X-Men hero.

Directed by James Mangold, who helmed well-received hit The Wolverine, the promo spot for Logan shows a very different Wolverine than the basically indestructible, metal-clawed mutant: his regenerative powers waning, he’s scarred and suffering from tremors.

The moody clip, set to Johnny Cash’s haunting cover of “Hurt,” shows that Patrick Stewart’s once powerful psychic, Professor Xavier, is now frail.  He pins their hopes to a young girl. “She’s like you,” Professor X tells Logan. “She needs our help.”

The girl is apparently a fugitive from a government program that turns kids into killer mutants.  And like Logan, she too has metal claws.

Naturally, there are nefarious folks on their tail, including Narcos star Boyd Holbrook, playing mutant hunting cyborg comic baddie Donald Pierce.

The fan reaction to the trailer has been stellar, including from none other than Deadpool star and Hugh Jackman fanboy Ryan Reynolds, who tweeted: “Inject this film directly into my face immediately.”

The movie opens March 3, 2017.
