According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators solved several burglaries in the southern portion of the county, all of which took place over the last month, along with a theft that occurred in Cedar Bluff.

Local investigators worked with northwest Georgia Law Enforcement Officials in Chattooga, Floyd and Walker counties to locate one of those suspects and recovered some of the stolen  property.

41 year old Eric Shon Burke of Summerville, was arrested in Walker County on a number of offenses and awaits extradition to Chattooga, Floyd and Cherokee counties, meanwhile the search continues for 46 year old Carl Todd Browning, also of Summerville.

Chief Investigator Josh Summerford said that the cooperation between investigators from Cherokee, Chattooga, Floyd, and Walker Counties, as well as Cedar Bluff made it possible to solve that multi-county crime spree.

Sheriff Shaver expressed his sincere appreciation to all the members of the community who responded to requests for tips in identifying the suspects.

Tips on the whereabouts of the wanted suspect, Carl Todd Browning, should be provided to Investigator Tony Monroy at 256-927-2581.
