One Injured in Highway 35 Accident Involving Log Truck

Accident 18An auto accident involving a log truck brought traffic to a standstill late Tuesday afternoon on Highway 35 between Ft Payne and Rainsville.

That wreck involved a 1983 Kenworth being driven by Jack Leggett of a Heflin address, and a 2007 Lexus driven by 23 year old Latland Mauldin from Grant. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report – and a report from WAFF TV48 – the Lexus rear-ended the log truck, which caused a log to pierce the windshield of the car.

Mauldin was listed as being injured in that mishap, although no additional information was listed on the report.

The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
