One Killed, Three Injured in Highway 68 Crash Wednesday

Collinsville Police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 68, around 7:30 Wednesday evening – which left one dead and three injured.

DeKalb County Ambulance Service Director Mark Ford told the Ft Payne Times-Journal that the accident occurred about halfway up Lookout Mountain, where the two vehicles hit head on – two other vehicles were involved from behind the initial accident.

Collinsville Assistant Police Chief Rex Leath, reported that a total of four people were hurt in the wreck – with one being fatally injured. 

57 year old Collinsville resident Teresa Deiyene Pendergrass, was pronounced dead at Huntsville Hospital; meanwhile 36 year old Charles Arnold Godshall, also of Collinsville was transported to UAB, where he was listed in stable condition on Thursday afternoon.  Leath said that 34 year old John Head, of Leesburg was transported to the Erlanger Trauma Center in Chattanooga – where he was listed in critical condition and 48 year old Leigh Ann Graham of Collinsville was taken to DeKalb Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

That accident remains under investigation.
