Two Airlifted And Three Others Taken To The Hospital Following Single Car Crash On County Road 63 / UPDATED

A total of five people were hurt in a single-vehicle accident in the Sand Valley area just after 1:00pm Wednesday.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, two individuals had to be air-lifted for treatment, while two others were taken to Cherokee Medical Center and the other occupant of the vehicle was taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of that 1990 Lincoln Town Car was listed as 38 year old Melissa Daniels of Cedar Bluff; the passengers included 39 year old Travious Hood and 40 year old Agenarn Green in addition to two juveniles, ages 7 and 13.

the Cedar Bluff Fire Department, Cherokee EMS, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Centre Police Department and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene.

That vehicle left the roadway and traveled down a small embankment before coming finally coming to a stop.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
