One Person Injured in Car/Horse Collision in Cedar Bluff Monday Morning / UPDATED

A single-vehicle accident in Cedar Bluff during the early morning hours of Monday sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Alabama State Trooper accident report – at 4:30am, a 2007 Lincoln struck and killed a horse on Highway 9 at the intersection of Margaret Ingram Road.

The driver of the vehicle, listed on that report as Alicia Tucker of Ft Payne, escaped injury – however, a passenger, identified as 36 year old Jessica Jones, of a Georgia address, was hurt in the collision and was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment; there was also a one-month old child in the vehicle, who was fortunately in a child restraint seat and was unharmed.

Traffic was blocked in both directions for an extended period of time following the accident
