Pair Allegedly Found to be in Possession of 43 Grams of Meth

Two individuals are facing trafficking charges in Etowah County, after being caught with 43 grams of meth in addition to several other things they shouldn’t have had.

Mitchell Buel, age 31 of Gadsden and 27 year old Matthew Green of Piedmont were stopped at the intersection of Broad Street and South 7th in Gadsden back on August 1st.

According to a news release issued by the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, that search of the vehicle turned up the 43 grams of meth, a bag of marijuana and a glass pipe with residue, in addition to a pair of handguns – a .38 revolver and a 9mm semi-automatic.

Additional charges are likely to result from possession of the weapons; meanwhile, the pair has been charged with Trafficking Meth, Drug Possession, Possession of Marijuana, and the Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Buel also had active felony warrants.

Both men currently remain in the Etowah County Detention Center.
