A female pedestrian struck by a vehicle in downtown Centre on Wednesday evening has died from injuries sustained in the accident. According to Centre Police Reports the victim has been identified as 77 year old Pauline Crane of a Gaylesville address.
Crane was struck by a 2006 Ford Explorer being driven by Rebecca Wynn of Centre as she attempted to cross Main Street in front of the Methodist Church during a Trunk or Treat event.
Centre Police and Firefighters responded to the scene, as well as Paramedics with Cherokee EMS – Crane was stabilized at the scene and was being airlifted by a Lifesaver helicopter to Huntsville Hospital but died before reaching the Trauma Center.
