Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Highway 27 Early Monday Morning

Pedestrian Killed 2A pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning in Floyd County, Georgia; a police spokesperson said a man was driving a 2007 Nissan southbound on U.S. Highway 27 at around 6:30am, when a woman ran out in front of him.

The victim – identified as Tiffany D. Cox from Antioch Tennessee – was pronounced dead at the scene by Floyd County Deputy Coroner Ernie Studdard.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman will not be charged.
