A lengthy Piedmont City Council meeting Tuesday night saw discussion (and disagreement) on a number of issues.
The council voted down a motion by Councilwoman Brenda Spears to have CPA Joan Sanders attend a work session to discuss the findings of the September 30th, 2012 Audit.
It would cost them 225-dollars an hour to meet with the CPA.
Spears wanted to know why.
Before voting against the motion, Councilman Frank Cobb had these thoughts.
Spears voted “Yes” while the rest of the council voted “No.”
In other action, the council did approve another motion made by Councilwoman Spears.
That was to add the category of “Other Business” back to the agenda for council meetings.
Following the approval of the motion, Councilwoman Mary Bramblett expressed concerns about the evening’s proceedings.
Bramblett told WEIS Radio that the business chose another location because that town was able to offer a building for them to use.
Also during Tuesday’s meeting, the council heard from Roxanne Sims with a group called Citizens Action.
She spoke about what she feels are “Indescrepencies” in the way the city is doing business.
Mayor Rick Freeman was not at last night’s meeting due to continuing health problems related to blood clots. Bill Baker presided in the Mayor’s absence.
