A solar project is planned for the Pirelli Tire manufacturing plant in Rome.
The energy facility will generate more than 13,000 megawatt hours of clean energy over the next two decades; the solar panels are being placed on three acres of land, and will produce the energy under the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative.
Pirelli will be leasing that property, while Georgia Power Solar Company and Energy Ecosystem will do the development work with management being provided by Hannah Solar.
The project is expected to be finished by January of the next year (2014).
