As temperatures in Alabama rise this week, so will the likelihood of severe weather.
Forecasters are saying that there could be two rounds of storms before the weekend is over with the first chance being on Thursday and the second Sunday night into Monday morning
Thursday – a storm system will bring a cold front through the state – and thunderstorms are expected to form along, and ahead of it
The Storm Prediction Center, said damaging winds would be the primary threat during that time and a tornado or two will also be possible, according to the National Weather Service.
Storms are expected to affect northern Alabama including of course, Cherokee County early on Thursday morning and then clear out before the peak heating of the day.
Central portions of the state could see severe weather throughout the entire day.
A second round of severe weather for northern Alabama, could develop into strong storms as early as Sunday afternoon.
