Prosecutors Reportedly Seeking Death Penalty in Robbery and Murder Case

Williams 1WAFF TV48 is reporting that prosecutors are planning on seeking the death penalty for 23 year old Shontavius Williams of Gadsden who stands charged with the robbery and murder of an Albertville man last January (2014).

A status hearing was held on Wednesday regarding the upcoming trial.

Williams has been charged with capital murder in connection with the death of 22 year old Willie Harris Coleman, Jr.

Three others, Jamichael Kinchen, DeRunteze Parker & Maya Morris have also been charged in the case.

Defense attorneys are seeking to have statements and other evidence thrown out.

It’s unclear when a judge will make a ruling on those motions.
