Quick Action by Centre Police Results in Drug Arrest on the Bypass in Centre

NailsA Georgia woman was arrested on drug charges in Cherokee County Wednesday morning.

After receiving a report from a concerned citizen stating that a car was witnessed weaving back and forth on the bypass, Centre Police were notified and dispatched to the scene, with Officer Brody Moses immediately locating and pulling the vehicle over; Officer Moses along with Officer Leigha Blake, conducted a search of the vehicle, which turned up several types of pills in addition to an amount of synthetic marijuana, commonly referred to as “Spice”.

Nails Drugs29 year old Ashley Miranda Nails of Silver Creek, Georgia was placed under arrest and was charged with four counts of the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, the Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Reckless Endangerment, due to the fact that an eleven year old child was in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

The child was turned over to family members.

Nails was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center just after 10:00am with bond set at $11,500.
